The Ankh was an ancient Egyptian symbol of eternal life and immortality. The word ankh also means "mirror" in the ancient Egyptian language, as in a mirror to the soul. Reproduction of an inlaid mirror case found in King Tutankhamun's tomb.

The Egyptian Papyrus is made by slicing thin strips of River Nile reeds and laying them criss-cross. They are then soaked in water and dried under weight. The result makes a very durable paper, which has been used since ancient times. The papyrus painting measures aproximately 9" X 12". It is painted in Gouache watercolor.
