The Scarab was the ancient Egyptian god of the dawn, or creation.
They believed that the winged scarab god Khepri
flew across the sky each morning carrying the sun.
The Egyptian Papyrus is made by slicing thin strips of River Nile reeds and laying them criss-cross.
They are then soaked in water and dried under weight. The result makes a very durable paper,
which has been used since ancient times.
The papyrus painting measures aproximately 9" X 12."
It is painted in Gouache watercolor.
