Sailboat of the Ancient Egyptians, guided by a single oar, and constructed of bundled papyrus. The Egyptian Papyrus is made by slicing thin strips of River Nile reeds and laying them criss-cross. They are then soaked in water and dried under weight. The result makes a very durable paper, which has been used since ancient times. The papyrus painting measures aproximately 9" X 12." It is painted in Gouache watercolor. |
