The ancient Acacia tree, from which the first couple, Isis and Osiris are said in legend, to have sprang from. The Egyptian Papyrus is made by slicing thin strips of River Nile reeds and laying them criss-cross. They are then soaked in water and dried under weight. The result makes a very durable paper, which has been used since ancient times. The papyrus painting measures aproximately 9" X 13." It is painted in Gouache watercolor. |
